THE yardstick for Vintage Opel drivers

The last big jobs are finished, most of the dust wiped away, which means that now we can really put our backs into the job of distributing parts for Opel rear-wheel-drives over the whole country and beyond from our new rooms here in the edelschmiede. Yes, it really is done for now –  with much of our own efforts and blood, sweat and tears, we have managed over the last two years to install a very nice office section into the old walls of the edelschmiede. Our beating heart, the more than 35m² office, has ended up being less of an office and more of a homey workroom. But that’s not a bad thing, as we want to feel comfortable here, as we scout out and rework things for our Vintage Opels, answer the telephone and write emails, so that you, our edelschmiede customers, are provided lightening fast with your chosen parts. As part of this process, we have also optimised our stockrooms, so that organisation finally rules supreme.

New parts in the edelschmiede portfolio

Nevertheless, we haven’t forgotten to incorporate one or two new items into our catalogue, or rather have them reproduced. As already mentioned, we now carry the 24V / C30SE guiding rail and a range of chain tensioners. In addition, we also have a number of other, very attractive new things. These include, for instance, the hood unlocking mechanism for the C-Kadett, the seal set for the Getrag 240 5-gear transmission, the C-Kadett cih water pump, the cih oil pump cap or the sealing plug for the cih engine blocks, just to name a few. The observant ‘edelschmied’ (translated: ‘noble forgers’) amongst you would have found these items a while ago and surely found them good. Now, however, we also have a few highlights, such as the gearstick gaiter for the OHV 4-gear transmission (sport gearshift / shorter gearstick), or else the 24V ignition cable from Bosch that we can deliver immediately!

A couple of other parts are still in the pipeline, such as the guide sleeve for the release bearing in Getrag 240 transmission, or the shaft seal for the drive shaft in Monza & Senator A, which is already on the shelves. A set of rear axle screws especially assembled for the C-Kadetts is just waiting on our packaging artist… As an absolute cracker, I am currently holding the prototype of a cable harness for the transistor ignition 2.0E in my hand – a dream in copper, if you will 🙂

A new treat is now always included

As a parting gift, I offer you a wooden folding ruler, also known as a “yardstick”. This piece has been included in every order over 100€ since last week! This is a little thank you for all our customers that during the renovations sometimes couldn’t reach anyone over the telephone, or received a dusty seal, or even simply because I find the yardstick with our edelschmiede logo on it awesome 😉 This one’s on me: the first 100 orders of at least 100€ will receive an original “edelschmiede yardstick”!
