”Children, how time flies!” The first three weeks of the new year are over and done with, the winter has come and the edelschmiede forges away at top speed! But one thing mustn’t be forgotten:
„THANK YOU to all our customers, friends and Opel rear-wheel-drive drivers for the previous, first complete business year!“
We never expected that the edelschmiede would have taken off to the extent that it has, so the fact that it has is a dream come true. In the meantime we have even managed to accumulate some capital, which means that we can now start to think properly about producing some reproductions. Currently that would be, for instance, the rear shaft seal for the Getrag 265 or the 3-gear automatic transmission. This reproduction arrived last week and has already been delivered to the first customer. The sealing ring is of original quality, without a flaw, and for a price that was never available when buying this shaft seal ring from Opel!
The area of the (flat) seals will be continuously further expanded: for the 24V engine, we now have our own reproduction seals for both the timing case and the timing case cover. This excellent piece, upon which the four valves are pictured, in front of the two camshaft gear wheels.
The 4-cylinder cih engines have also not been forgotten: the valve cover seals for the aluminium valve covers from GT, as well as the irmscher & Steinmetz covers with the 6mm holes have just been reissued. The delivery can be expected within the next two weeks. And, just by the way, all these seals are ‘made in Germany’! Which means that our cash stays here, rather than being sent to Asia or wherever else, which is also an important aspect to note!
The year 2013 has already brought us this, as well as other interesting bits of news! The shop is already filled with new articles and some old articles have also received an update, for instance the speedometer systems are now electro-galvanised, rather than being left as raw metal. I will introduce a number of things over the coming days, so: get excited!
