These lines are among the last that I will write in this office. The “Office 2.0”, as I called it in a facebook post in November 2012, is being retired! Why? Because its simply too small. It holds two computer workstations, and to begin with we even had a few shelves with edelschmiede products squeezed in. – For quite some time now I have been working with many helping hands on “Office 3.0”, which will befittingly be located in the edelschmiede (the ‘old office’ was in my family home…). Within the last one and a half years we have created a spacious office with three computer desks, a small bathroom, photo room and an entryway with stairwell, over roughly 90m2. The new rooms have ended up being really cool and over the upcoming summer holidays we will move ourselves into them. Because of these “construction works”, it has been difficult to get a hold of me over the telephone over at least the last 6 months. It has also been whispered to me by some little birds, that some items even arrived with a light dusting of building dust covering them…. Sorry about that, but we honestly put a lot of effort into ensuring that our products and orders weren’t affected by the construction. – For now, however, we will once again be closing up shop for two weeks, in order to recharge and to complete the move. We will turn off the web-shop, as well as the eBay shop, on the 3rd of August and then on the 14th of August I will once again flick the switch over and turn the shops back on…
But I don’t want to leave this post without a cracker: For close to three-quarters of a year, we’ve been working on reproducing the long guide rail for the primary timing chain in our 24V / C30SE / C40SE engines. I’ve just spoken to a manufacturer and after our holiday we will finally be able to offer these parts!
This means that from the middle of August, the guide rails from Opel 636814 (GM 90 352 572) that normally cost approx. 500€ will be exclusively available from the edelschmiede for only 159,95€! The reproductions are a dream, the quality of the rails truly excellent. We also had the sliding block above, for the secondary chain, reproduced at the same time. But I’ll give you more details on that topic after the holidays 🙂
